A dental implant is an artificial “root” made of titanium that is implanted into the jaw to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Dental implants can be used to support crowns, bridges or dentures. During the healing phase, of two months on average, a tight bond between the bone and the implant will be formed. Afterwards a ceramic crown will be fixed on the implant and a full bite force can be applied. With the new advances in implantology, a new approach called “immediate loading” has been developed. It consists on placing the implants and their temporary crowns both on the SAME DAY. Even patients with no teeth can benefit from this fast procedure. They will receive up to 8 or 10 dental implants in one appointment, and after 24 hours a temporary prosthesis will be fixed on these implants. Since the late 80’s, when we started to place implants, till today, we have a success rate of about 98%. "WITH MORE THAN 10.000 DENTAL IMPLANTS ALREADY PLACED, WE ARE CONFIDENT TO SATISFY EVEN THE MOST DEMANDING PATIENTS" A key factor to implant success is the quantity and quality of the bone where the implant is to be placed. When there is a lack of bone quantity, it may be necessary to create a new bone structure to fill the missing areas allowing implants to be fitted. There are different implant treatment options depending on the individual case: Replacing a single tooth In the aesthetic front zone, if you have a missing tooth or a tooth to be extracted, dental advancements allow you to replace it by an implant and a temporary crown in just 1 hour. Replacing several teeth If you have several teeth missing, implant supported bridges can replace them. Immediate temporary bridges can be done in the same day of implants placement. Replacing all the teeth If you are an edentulous patient (with no teeth), you can now have a fixed prosthesis 24 hours after the implant placement. |
